The Book

A town with one hero. His daughter knows better.

In Havenridge, Massachusetts, the Sentinels hockey team is everything, and Coach Grant Woods is the town's golden son: a champion, a benefactor, a legend. But behind the sage-green walls of the Woods house on Main Street, his daughter Claire knows the truth. The town's hero is a monster.

One championship night shatters the Woods family and splinters Claire's tight-knit group of friends. A year later, Claire has built a new life in California, until a string of messages pulls her back home.

Someone in Havenridge knows what happened that night. And they've taken the town's old motto to heart:

“The only way to end it is to make them feel it.”
